So work has been going pretty well. All of the people I work with are cool and the managers are nice. It's weird because sometimes you'll be working w/ people you like, but if you're not on the same floor, you won't see them at all!
We don't really get scheduled for alot of shifts because there are SO many employees, but I'm guessing that'll change as people get fired or quit. So far the money hasn't been that great which has been a bit surprising to me. I keep thinking about it and everything is in my favor. Good restaurant... check. Great location... check. Good clientele and high prices... check. So why aren't I making money? My sales as of late have been over $500 each night, but I have yet to break a bill yet.
I'm guessing that tipout being 5% total is really hurting me, but that's not something that I can do anything about so I will just try to get higher sales. Not to mention we don't have any sidework here so that in itself is a dream come true! Also, the clientele here is great, but with all the tourists from countries that don't tip... good service doesn't always = good tip. We get ALOT of Japanese tourists and they tend to be the worst tippers because in Japan, you don't tip at all... so I have started utilizing my Japanese (Broken as it may be) and it has actually started to pay off! Japanese tourists have actually become my best tippers!
One more factor in my favor is that we get paid hourly here! The only paycheck I used to get said ''THIS IS NOT A CHECK'' and that was just depressing. The only paycheck I got so far was for training so I'm not sure how my paychecks from now on will go, but hopefully I will be able to pay rent through my paychecks and not have to worry about it! That would be so sweet!
Morning shifts aren't that great because people are always out and about doing touristy activities and even though you'll get a huge section, you probably won't get sat too much. I think that I will try working one soon just to see how they are. And if nothing else, I'll rack up some hours which will help out in the long run.
I definitely have to start saving up for when people come visit and I need to start going places so I'll know the good places to go so I can be a great host, but I'm so broke from not working for so long that I'm still digging myself out of financial destitution so that'll have to wait.
So all in all.... I'll just have to get used to how things are out here, but I definitely love Hawaii and everything it has to offer! Even the traffic here I don't mind as much, but I'm sure that will wear off soon, but by end of July we'll be living in Waikiki, NR-free, and it'll be mad sick yo!

Good to hear the Changers over there are up to par, but until you all start bringing "the water bottle" then they have not truly experienced P.F. Chang's! LoL.
Listening to your NR rants is freakin' hilarious! I'll be laughing in my cubicle and people be starin, but then I'll make them feel bad with my broken hand!
I go to Jacksonville on May 12, got a furnished studio down there all to myself! Hopefully I can get them to give me a few days off in July to come visit!
